Artist's Description

Police are investigating the bombin late Saturday, March 24th, of John the Barber's Basement Shop, near the uptown entrance of the I.R.T. subway station at East 51st Street and Lexington Avenue, in New York City. No motive is known for the deed but it is thought due to a grudge instead of any labour demonstration. John the Barber, whose real name is John Reisler, first manager of Jack Dempsey, has not occupied the shop for 18 months. This photo shows a view of the interior of the bombed barber shop in New York City.
