(Original Caption) New York: John A. Gotti, 25, son of alleged Mafia boss John J. Gotti, is frisked by a policeman outside the courthouse where his father is on trial for assault and conspiracy. At right, a young Gotti is led away by one of his father's attorneys, Gerald Shargel. Responding to a report of guns in a vehicle, police rushed to the scene, drew their weapons and ordered young Gotti out of the car. Two other men were searched along with Gotti's son. No guns were found, but an aluminum bat lay between the front seats. The stocky young man was cursing police when Shargel calmed him down. He got back into the car and sped away. The senior Gotti slipped out of the courthouse after the third day of jury deliberation in his trial.
