(Original Caption) 6/14/1946-Pompton Lakes, NJ- Heavyweight champion Joe Louis (r) and Jackie Robinson,ex-UCLA football star and former U. S. Amry Leiutenant,who has achieved the distinction of being the first Negro signed up by a club in organized baseball,try the weapon of each other's trade at Louis' Pompton Lake, NJ, training camp,June 14. Robinson plays with the Montreal Club of the International Legaue, a class AA circuit. In five days,Louis defends his title against Billy Conn at the Yankee Stadium,New York.
