Artist's Description

(Original Caption) 10/4/1923-Tokyo, Japan- Asakusa Park, playground of the Japanese for generations (shown after earthquake). The tower in the background was originally twelve stories high and was built so that Japanese for a few pennies might climb it, and there have a view of the great capital of Yedo, or Tokyo, as it came to be known.
