Oceanographer Jacques-Yves Cousteau demonstrates his latest invention, the Aqua-Lung, with the help of Ethel Janney of Cold Spring Harbor, and Commander Douglas Fane, Chief of the US Navy underwater demolition squad. The Aqua-Lung allows divers to breath at depths of 200 feet without above water connections. The demonstrate took place in the swimming pool of the SS Liberte oceanliner.
