(Original Caption) 03/27/1945-Boston, Mass: Coast guardsman Jacob Lawrence, 385 Decatur St., Brooklyn, N.Y., who is a combat artist aboard a transport, finds a showing of his paintings at the Institute of Modern Art in Boston. He received the Rosenwald Fellowships in 1940, 1941, and 1942, and one of his paintings won a Metropolitan Museum prize. His works are exhibited in New York, Washington, Buffalo, Providence and Richmond.
