The (Old) Trikeri is the only inhabited island of the Pagasitic Gulf."nAt the top of the hill stands the Holy Monastery of Evangelistria.Its history dates back to the 8th century.But the frequent pirate raids deserted and ruined the monastery.In its ruins, however, a new monastery was built by the monk Damianos Koslis after many miraculous suggestions of the Virgin Mary's old icon .
