Artist's Description

(Original Caption) This photo shows "The Boston Theater," one of the most famous theatrical monuments in the country, which was to soon be no more. During its 21 years of existence, it had seen Edwin Booth and the other stars of the stage, Grand Opera divas and foreign dignitaries, including the Prince of Wales, 1860, and the Grand duke Alexis of Russia, 1871. It was being raised to make way for the B. F. Keith Memorial Theater. This shows the interior as it was in 1925.
