(Original Caption) 10/2/1928-Chin Lee, AZ: Medicine men of the Navajos at Chin Lee, Arizona, were prevailed upon for the first time to perform their Yebechi, or sacred sand painting, by the members of a movie company who went on location into the heart of the Navajo's reservation.Photo shows the Indians at work on exotic painting, the dancers represent the four seasons, each dancer holds above his head the male and female "Sankes of Creation" sacred to all of the Indian tribes of the SW.Complete Caption in Negative Sleeve
