Description
The VS-300, created by Igor Sikorsky, became the first successful helicopter after its historic tethered flight on September 14, 1939. The following spring, the helicopter could stay airborne for as long as 15 minutes, and in 1941 it established a world record world a flight of 1 hour, 32 minutes, and 26 seconds.
