The beautiful aurora displays over the Kleifarvatn lake during the night of 13-14 February 2013, the first night of my second visit to Iceland.An aurorais a natural light display in the sky particularly in the high latitude (Arctic and Antarctic) regions, caused by the collision of energetic charged particles with atoms in the high altitude atmosphere.Iceland is one of the best place for aurora hunting. The best time is during winter when there is long night time to increase chance to see this natural display. Anyway, the main factor to be concerned is the weather that you need to have clear sky.
