The depicted Holy Monastery of Annunciation is located on the top of a hill over the island of Trikeri, in the Pagasitic Gulf. Its history dates back to the 8th century.But the frequent pirate raids deserted and ruined the monastery.In its ruins, however, a new monastery was built by the monk Damianos Koslis after many miraculous suggestions of the Virgin Mary's old icon .
