(Original Caption) 2/22/1932-Washington, D.C.- Defending George Washington against those who would make him too "human," and calling on the nation to draw inspiration from the great patriot, President Hoover addressed a brilliant and distinguished assemblage in Washington, D.C. on February 22nd. Photo shows a general view of the audience during President Hoover's speech from the rostrom to the joint session of the House. Vice president Charles Curtis (L) and Speaker John Garner are seated directly behind the President.
