Walking past Bonchurch Pond I was super fortunate to come across a grey heron stood right on the bank. They're usually really shy and I've always wanted to capture one. Not having a long lens makes this really difficult, any I've seen on the coast fly off when I get within 50 metres. This one must be a regular pond dweller though, not being spooked by cars wizzing past only metres from it. I was really hoping to capture a catch, as it was fishing, but after 30 minutes sat there in the rain, it flew off to the other side of the pond. Never the less, very pleased to get a few shots with my 50mm lens!
