Following a series of financial crises, coupled with labor difficulties, Ringling Brothers-Barnum and Bailey Circus left Scranton for Sarasota, Florida, quarters. Final blow to the big show came when General Manager John Ringling North and Actors' Federation officials failed to agree after a strike over proposed wage cuts.
