(Original Caption) Accra, Ghana: White Chief In Black Africa. Nana Kofi Onyaase, alias Roland James Moxon, rides high as the first white traditional chief in Black Africa. He was invited to become chief of the village in 1943 when he was district commissioner of the then Gold Coast Colonial Service. The owner of a publishing firm in Accra, he leaves the big city twice a week, and dressed in Ghanaian Chief attire, visits his village.
