(Original Caption) General William Westmoreland, commander of U.S. Forces in Vietnam. using charts and maps, briefs reporters at the Pentagon, November 22nd. Westmoreland said the bloody battle in Vietnam's Central Highlands is "the beginning of a great defeat for the enemy." He had received within the hour a report from his deputy field commander saying the Allied situation in the Dak To area is "in excellent hands" and morale is high.
