Description
François Marie Charles Fourier, French utopian socialist, (1903). Fourier (1772-1837) believed that universal harmony could be achieved by reorganizing society into cooperatives called 'phalanxes', each numbering about 1500 people, who would share labour, wealth and housing. A print from The World's History, A Survey of Man's Record, by Dr HF Helmolt, Volume II, William Heinemann, London, 1903. (Photo by The Print Collector/Print Collector/Getty Images)
