(Original Caption) 9/6/1927-Rye, NY- Two hundred and eighty-eight golfers, 55-years of age and older, are entered in the 23rd annual seniors' championship that is being played over the Apawamis Country Club Course at Rye, NY. Because of the size of the field, the field was divided into two parts and the best score for thirty-six holes of medal play will decide the winner. Photo shows Frank H. Hoyt of the Engineers Club, the present titleholder, who gained his crown by a ten-stroke margin last year, playing from trap at edge of 18th during first day of play. He is shown at the end of his swing.
