Artist's Description
(Original Caption) 2/9/69-Everett, Washington: The world's largest commercial jetliner, the Boeing 747 makes its first takeoff 2/9. The 231 ft. jet used abut 4500 feet of runway and became airborne at a speed of about 170 MPH. The 747 cut its maiden flight short by about an hour due to some minor problem when the wing flaps were lowered to a 30 degree angle.
