(Original Caption) Cuban Premier Fidel Castro seemed to be giving the "V for victory" sign during his speech here. Castro accused the U.S. of a "direct offensive" against his government and warned that he plans an immediate counterattack. Castro warned that he has more and better arms than his enemies, and would repel any new invasion attempts. It is possible that recent heavy shipments from the iron curtain countries had increased the size and weight of his armaments. President Osvaldo Dorticos can be seen at the extreme right behind Castro. The stage was decked with a large sign reading "vincremos" (We will win).
