Artist's Description
(Original Caption) 3/6/1950 Chicago, IL. The end of the coal strike came just a trifle late to be of any help to 3-year-old Karen Breu, who is looking on disconsolately as daddy confiscates her favorite toy high chair, in an effort to maintain heat in their furnace. Father Robert had a difficult time explaining the situation as every available bit of wood came under his saw, to keep his family warm.
