(Original Caption) 10/17/1969-New York, NY: Down there someplace is the baseball diamond at Shea Stadium where the amazing New York Mets won the World Series title from the Baltimore Orioles, Oct. 16. The Mets ran for safety after the final out and the fans literally took over the field, ripping up bases, turf or anything loose to take home as a souvenir of the historic occasion.
