(Original Caption) 12/17/1930: Berlin, Germany- Last picture taken of the Polar explorer Professor Dr. Alfred Lothar Wegener, before he left in the fall for Greenland. He is missing since October 2, and no word has been received about his whereabouts from neither one of his expeditions, which are stationed at the two bases on the south and west coast of Green land. He left the west-coast base on October 2 to undertake an exploration trip into the mountains.
