(Original Caption) 10/9/1928-New York, NY-View of the office of the system operator of the New York Edison Company, which distributes all the power generated by the Edison and Allied Companys. In case of a storm the operator rings a bell from the storm detector on the roof and then orders the stations to increase their capacity. He knows the capacity, the numbers of feeders in operation, and the voltage generated by looking at the control pilot board which is shown.
