(Original Caption) Japanese set about to salvage whatever household goods they can in an effort to begin the long hard task of reconstruction in Fukui, hardest hit by the earthquake of the sea towns in Southern Japan, on June 28, 1948. The Japanese predict the task of rebuilding the city will take at least six years.
