This is the famous D. hercules beetle. Order Coleoptera and family Scarabaeidae, this is the largest of the rhinoceros beetles and is the largest of the six species in the Dynastes genus. It is an impressively strong insect. With its claws dug into one's shirt, it may require two other people to pry it loose.
