(Original Caption) Shown at work in his laboratory recently is British scientist, 45-year-old Dr.Maurice Hugh Frederick Wilkins, who it was announced in Stockholm today has jointly been awarded the 1962 Nobel Prize for Medicine and Physiology with United States Biologist James Dewey Watson, and another British scientist, Francis Harry Compton Crick. Dr. Wilkins, who lives in London with his wife, has been Deputy Director of the Medical Research Council (Biophysics Research Unit) since 1955. At the moment, he is at Sloan Kettering Institute in New York.
