Decoration in the Minster at Essen, Germany, (1928). '1st Half of 11th Century...Painting on the arch of the west choir emporia...Each of the ribs had 5 medallions containing teachers (Apostles ?) and auditors. The paintings belong to the earliest in the Rhineland'. After R. Borrmann. Plate LII, figs 113 & 114, from "An Encyclopaedia of Colour Decoration from the Earliest Times to the Middle of the XIXth Century" with explanatory text by Helmuth Bossert.
