(Original Caption) Wearing Indian war dress, and displaying a take off on the original motto of the old Boston Tea Party--"Taxation Without Representation Is Still Tyranny"--three Washingtonians reenact the Tea Party by dumping a carton of tea into the Potomac River. Purpose was to prove that residents of the District of Columbia was serious in their demand for suffrage. A bill to grant it came up before the Senate Judiciary Committee on February 4, 1946. Left to right are Douglas H. Timmerman; Cary Nichols, Jr., and Thomas W. Steele, members of the D. C. Junior Board of Commerce.
