Courtyard of Montagu House, Great Russell Street, Bloomsbury, London' (1830), from 'Old and New London Illustrated, Vol IV,' by Edward Walford (Cassell Petter & Galpin, London, Paris & New York), 1878. Montagu House was a grand 17th century private house, which became the first home of the British Museum.
