Artist's Description

Courtroom scene as the attorney for the plaintiff Mrs. Andree Lardoux Hahn, of Kansas City, completed his examination of the defendant, internationally known art expert Sir Joseph Duveen. Mrs. Hahn sued Mr. Duveen for $500,000 for slander of title. She charged that a painting owned by her, reputed to be La Belle Ferroniere by Leonardo Da Vinci, was to be sold to a Kansas City art museum until an opinion of Duveen's expressing doubt of the authenticity of the painting cancelled the sale.
