(Original Caption) 2/3/1926-Washington, DC- A bill to abolish capital punishment which was introduced in the house had its first hearing before a subommittee of the House Judiciary Committee with Rep. Clarence McLeod of Michigan as chairman. The famous criminal lawyer Clarence Darrow of Chicago was a witness before the committee. Photo shows (L-R): Rep. John B. Sosnowski, witness; Rep. McLeod,; Chairman Rep. Houston; Mr. Darrow, standing; Rep. Frank Reid; and Rep W.Q. Hammer.
