(Original Caption) 7/12/1927-New York, NY:Above is pictured Cass Gilbert, designer of the Woolworth Building, a world famous architect and artist who was recently chosen President of the National Academy of Design.Mr. Gilbert seeks a fund of ten million dollars for the erection and maintenance of a new art gallery for the exhibition of the paintings and sculpture of American artists.The proposed gallery would be erected in New York and Gilbert is seeking the aid of wealthy New Yorkers to foster his plans for a building of this sort.
