C. Fox', (1749-1806), 1830. Charles James Fox (1749-1806), British Whig statesman and arch-rival of William Pitt the Younger, educated at Wandsworth school and Eton College who rose to prominence in the House of Commons as a forceful and eloquent speaker of the opposition, he was anti-slavery.
