Artist's Description

(Original Caption) Ready for Their Wings. The first group of new all-metal, low wing passenger and cargo planes which the United Air Lines will place on the transcontinental and Pacific Coast routes are nearing completion in the Boeing factory at Seattle, Wash. Sixty of the new ships are to be constructed, with 18 to be ready for delivery May 1st. One of the new streets recently completed its tests and has been sent to Cheyenne, Wyo., for inspection by operations heads of the line after which it will be put into service. They are twin-engined and carry two pilots, a stewardess, ten passengers and a mail and express cargo. This photo shows a scene on the Boeing assembly floor.
