(Original Caption) Franklin crowned his accomplishments as diplomat and fighter for freedom by his service as a member of the Constitutional Convention of 1787. He was instrumental in bringing together warring factions within the new republic. His humor and political skill brought about vital compromises which resulted in the adoption of the Constitution.
