(Original Caption) Bantam Ben Hogan blasts his way out of a sand trap during the $20,000 Colonial National Invitation tournament to come within inches of the pin. The battling golfer came from behind, May 25, to win the tournament with a three-under-par 76 on the final eighteen for a 72-hole total of 279. The blazing finish knocked Ray Gifford from first to fourth place.
