Artist's Description

(Original Caption) Ben Hogan (left), Texas sharpshooter, putting on the ninth green during the afternoon round of the $5,000 Goodall Round Robin Golf Tournament, May 18. Watching Hogan are Jimmy Demaret (left) and Sam Snead. Hogan scored a 66 on this round, which gave him a net balance of 24 points in the point scoring system, 14 more than Gene Sarazen in second place, and probably sufficient to enable Hogan to grab top money of $1,000.Image provided by Getty Images.
