Description
Persepolis (Takht-e-Jamshid) was the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire (550–330 BC). Today, the ruins of Persepolis are located about 60km northeast of shiraz in Fars Province, Iran.
The ruins of Persepolis are a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.
