Description
(Original Caption) 1887- The Barrett system of lighting railroad cars by electricity. Fifteen incandescent lamps to a car forms an efective and complete lighting plant with one exception, as long as the engine in attached, the system will work. It matters not if the train moving or not, the Tremont electric light dynamo is used as an independent engine. But if the locomotive is uncoupled, then the dynamo engine, being deprived of its steam, must come to a stop. (For complete caption info see neg sleeve).
