(Original Caption) "Sign there," indicated Col. Jake Ruppert to Babe Ruth March 4 in New York. Scratch, scratch, scratch went the Bambino's pen. And he had signed the contract to play ball for the Yankees for three years for the sum of $210,000. Cousin Ed Barrow is shown gazing serenely on the proceedings. The Babe seems to be the picture of contentment. "We want the actual signing of the contract," photographers cried. So Babe obliged 'em. No posing this time.
