Description
(Original Caption) Two flyers hunt Knapp for "thrill murder." Philip Knapp, wealthy Syracuse youth, aviation cadet deserter, charged with murdering Louis Panella, Long Island, N.Y. taxi driver, for the thrill of killing, is believed by the police to be headed for Canada. Accordingly, an army plane bearing two of the premier U.S. stunt flyers, Lieut. Marion L. Elliot and Lieut. Walter H. Sargent, has joined in the hunt for the suspected killer. Photo shows Lieut. Elliot (on plane) taking orders from Major William N. Hensley Jr., commandant of Mitchell Field, Long Island, to "shoot to kill if necessary."
