The Zebra is a striped, black and white member of the horse family and no two individuals are marked exactly alike. There are three species to be found in Africa and are closely related to the African Wild Ass. This species is the Burchell's or Plains Zebra (Equus burchelli) and is the most prolific. They are found in the Southern and Eastern regions of Africa. Their habitats are grasslands and woodlands and can be highly nomadic, migrating annually in East Africa in search of new grazing. They are herbivorous. Makgadikgadi Pan, Botswana, Southern Africa.
