(Original Caption) Making his first appearance before a scientific body, Professor Albert Einstein delivered a lecture at the annual convention of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Questioned as to the possibilities in man's utilizing the energy in matter, the sage of relativity declared that it was difficult to make predictions as it would take infinitely more energy to extract the power locked up in the atom than would be feasible. Above he is shown explaining some complicated theses to struggling reporters in Pittsburgh, PA, where the convention is now in session.
