Admiral de Winter resigning his sword on board the 'Venerable', 11 October 1797 (c1857). Admiral Jan Willem De Winter (1761-1812), commander of the Dutch fleet, surrendering on board HMS 'Venerable', flagship of Adam Duncan (1731-1804), Viscount Duncan of Camperdown, after the Battle of Camperdown, fought off the Dutch coast.
