(Original Caption) 10/3/1970-New York, NY: Representative Adam Clayton Powell of N. Y. raises a fist in the Black Power salute as he stands alone in the courtyard of the Long Island House of Detention Oct. 3. Mr. Powell is seen through a tangle of barbwire as he hears the prisoners shout back "Right on!" Powell said he also planned to go to the riot-torn Brooklyn House of Detention and the Tombs.
