1877: Former policeman Mr Bayliss runs a Victorian dining room for ex-convicts in Drury Lane, London serving basins of leg of beef soup. Mr Bayliss is on the left, talking to Ramo Sammy, a local Indian drummer known as the 'tam tam man'.
