At the eve of Eid-udl-Adha, the colorful Khussa or Mojri shoes are made and being sold at a shop in Bohri Bazaar, one of the leading markets of Saddar, Karachi. These shoes are example of excel and craftsmanship of their makers.
They are traditionally made by artisans mostly using tanned leather. The uppers are made of one piece of leather or textile embroidered and embellished with brass nails, cowry shells, mirrors, bells and ceramic beads. The handicrafts of a country represents its culture. The Pakistani handicrafts are true reflection of the society and there is true love of beauty manifest for both who produce such wonderful objects and those give space to these produced material in their everyday life.
