The Negro River, one of the largest tributaries of the Amazon River, has its origin in Colombia. As it passes through Manaus, it joins the Solimões River to form the Amazon River. In fact, Solimões is just the name that the Amazon River has before receiving the waters of the Negro.
The Negro River is the largest tributary of the left bank of the Amazon River in the Amazon, South America.
